Areas The main interest of our group is directed toward an understanding of the macroscopic quantum properties of superfluid 3He and 4He. The problems of the inhomogeneous superfluid, boundary conditions and the study of phase transitions in systems of reduced dimensionality are emphasized. Persistent current studies, torsional oscillator measurements, nano kelvin thermometry, and propagation of 3rd and 4th sound are examples of the various experimental techniques used in this work. The group has a close association with those of Profs. Lee, Richardson, and Parpia |
