Joint Cornell/Weizmann Postdoctoral Position in Condensed Matter Theory

Postdoctoral Position in Condensed Matter Theory, working with Cornell Prof. Debanjan Chowdhury and Weizmann Institute of Science Prof. Erez Berg

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position supported jointly by Professors Debanjan Chowdhury (Cornell University) and Erez Berg (Weizmann Institute of Science). We expect the postdoc to spend substantial amounts of time at both institutions, details of which can be worked out depending on mutual convenience.

Topics of interest include novel phases of quantum matter, including quantum spin-liquids, strongly interacting topological phases, non-Fermi liquids, unconventional superconductivity, non-equilibrium quantum dynamics and development of new approaches for studying problems with strong interactions.

Candidates should have a PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics or a closely related field, be highly motivated, and have a strong background in analytical and/or numerical methods. The appointment includes a competitive salary and benefits, and discretionary funds for research and/or travel expenses. The position will begin Fall 2020 and can be renewed annually for up to four years contingent upon satisfactory performance.
