Cornell Laboratory for Atomic and Solid State Physics

Design and Maintain Ultrahigh Vacuum Systems

The Laboratory of Atomic and Solid State Physics (LASSP) at Cornell University is a research center that focuses on exciting and cutting-edge research in both theoretical and experimental physics. Since 1954, our researchers have been leading the way in the fields of condensed matter, biological physics, and optics; evolving new methods and simultaneously deepening our fundamental understanding of the world.

Professor Kyle Shen is looking to hire a part-time technical staff member to design and maintain ultrahigh vacuum systems his laboratory which are being used for thin film deposition (molecular beam epitaxy) and electron spectroscopy (angle-resolved photoemission) of superconductors and other related quantum materials.
